In the year ending March 2023, 38% of people aged 16 to 59 years claimed it would be “very”, or “fairly”, easy for them to obtain illegal drugs within 24 hours. This was lower than what was claimed in the year ending March 2020 (43.2%). A quarter (24.9%) of people claimed it would be “very”, or fairly, easy for them to obtain nitrous oxide or NPS within 24 hours, similar to the year ending March 2020 (25.3%). Rosslyn House (Single Point of Access) –  This service aims to help people who need information, support or treatment with their substance or alcohol misuse. Clients can self-refer, or their family, carer, GP or any other professionals can refer them with their consent. The Yellow Card scheme is run by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), which safeguards medical products quality and efficacy in the United Kingdom. Anyone can report an issue with a medicine, vaccine, medical device (including software, apps and artificial intelligence), blood product or e-cigarette to the Yellow Card scheme. We offer a free, confidential online chat service where you can talk to one of our trained Recovery Workers, seven days a week. Had the ad appeared in non-broadcast media, it seems likely that the decision would have been similar under the CAP Code. The ASA usually takes a strict line on explicit references to drugs. Any such references are likely to be considered irresponsible because they encourage or condone drug use.

Our tenth annual #MedSafetyWeek campaign runs from 3 to 9 November 2025. Always read the patient information leaflet, or instructions supplied buy drugs with your medicine or medical device. It lists the known side effects or problems and advises you on what to do.

Naloxone can be accessed through your local drug service or pharmacy. Keep all drugs, medicines and other potentially hazardous substances out of sight and out of reach of children and animals. Prescribing of psychoactive medications should be informed by good quality guidance.

The Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs makes recommendations to government on the control of dangerous or otherwise harmful drugs, including classification and scheduling under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and its regulations. In Sheffield, drug and alcohol treatment for children under the age of 18 is provided by The Corner. The JCDU and departments need to be realistic about what is achievable in the first three years and assess how to adapt their approach to achieve the strategy’s 10-year outcomes. The strategy has established new partnerships across central and local government, and local authorities are taking steps to rebuild the workforce that was lost over the past decade.
